Welcome to Crochet Pattern Writing Training.

I’m Salena Baca, founder, host, and lead educator of the American Crochet Association (ACA), and I’ll be your instructor throughout this course. 

I learned to crochet at about five years old and haven’t put my hook down since. I’ve worked professionally in the crochet industry since 2009, and I have a lot of experience to share, including: 

• Publishing more than 500 individual crochet patterns that you can find on Ravelry, 
• Contributing designs and articles to nearly every major crochet magazine, 
• Writing more than 100 free crochet patterns for Red Heart Yarn and Yarnspirations, 
• Helping launch two online crochet magazines, 
• Authoring 18 crochet books (so far) available anywhere books are sold.

I created this course to share everything I’ve learned about turning your own unique crochet ideas into patterns that others love and actually want to make.

In this course I’ll share the exact methods, lessons, and strategies that helped me become a successful crochet designer, pattern writer, editor, and marketer, while making the process feel easier to understand and more approachable for crocheters at every level.

Throughout this course, you’ll find a mix of in-depth lessons and quick overviews, and I’ve included links to extra resources that will help you understand some ideas more clearly.
